Parklets: reimagine urban landscape

“Parklets” are spreading over parking spaces creating some innovatives urban areas across America. Plots of urban land (usually parking spaces!) are taken by the city government and turned into small and great parks to hang out.

Cool Roofs

New York City is painting it WHITE.

In a collaboration between NYC Service and the NYC Department of Buildings, this project facilitate the cooling of city’s rooftops.  When roofs are reflectives (like white) it helps to reduce cooling costs during summer by cutting energy usage and lower greenhouse gas emissions. Anyone living in NYC can get involved.
