One of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen, The Plant is an empty 93,500-square-foot Chicago meatpacking plant that John Edel, a young entrepeneur, intends to turn into a net-zero waste and energy vertical farm. The building is uniquely suited to food production, including bakers, a kombucha brewery, a tilapia fish farm, a mushroom garden, three aquaponics farms and currently  hunting for a brewery!
