This cool new market, Dekalb, based in Brooklyn is now officially open! Stores were made inside 40 massive old shipping containers, this new shopping concept is bringing an innovative flavor to the area. There’s about 22 vendors set up in the plaza, and there’s a covered center space with tables, coffee, food, clothes, and so on.

I’ll definitely pop up there whenever I go to NYC = ]

Emily Brooke is a british design student that just created a very nice and safe gadget to keep drivers aware when bikers are is riding alongside them. Blaze goes on the bike’s handlebars and projects a bright green image of a bicycle ahead. It will probably be very effective for cyclists riding at night.

Very cool!

Recycle for Candies

South corean designer YunJin Chang has recently made a machine that encourages children to recycle. As a reward for their good behaviour, the get candies. YAY! But this machine isn’t a fool, you know? It only gives back candies when you dispose something properly on it. No coins, no organic stuff. RVC (Recycle Vending Machine) only accepts trash: so don’t try to cheat ;)

Alright, let’s face it: candies are not the best thing to do for kids, but, the cause aims to teach them what is recyclable and what is not. Make it fun, so people join your cause.

Urban Concept Vehicle

Developed by the argetine industrial designer Nicolás Chacana, the vehicle should solve two of the biggest issues for the emerging countries by 2030: the contamination of  water and the invasion of agricultural land by the biofuels industry.

Those “mini vans” are able to filter water up to the drinkable level from almost any natural water source, such as lakes and rivers by implementing carbon nanotubes technology. It also provides the possibility to produce food by using hydroponic modules, avoiding rural flights by economically disadvantaged families.

Details about performance, costs and logistics were not disclosed yet.

One litre is your limit.

Theory say we waste almost six liters of water and use only one, while washing hands. Regarding it there’s a new curious, but obvious tap. Designed by three young chinese fellas: Yonggu Do, Dohyung Kim and Sewon Oh, this new tap has a tube on it, where you can only use one litre each time you open it. But it is not like those taps that stay leaking for 30 seconds. You may close it if you use less than a litre. And that’s the innovation feature of this taps.
